Aktion und Kontemplation im Kontext von Pastoral- und Sozialarbeit: Österreichische und tschechische Perspektiven
Aktion und Kontemplation sind traditionelle Begriffe, die in einem philosophischen und theologischen Kontext zwei grundlegende Dimensionen des menschlichen Lebens bezeichnen: einerseits die kontemplative, intellektuelle oder mystische, und andererseits die aktive, schöpferische, auf andere Menschen bezogene. Die Beziehung zwischen der aktiven und der kontemplativen bzw. der mystischen und der praktischen Dimension hat in der Reflexion über das Leben aus der Perspektive des christlichen Glaubens seit der Antike im Laufe der Geschichte eine wichtige Rolle gespielt. Neben der traditionellen Bewegung von der Kontemplation zur Aktion, vom Glauben zum Handeln, müssen wir heute auch über den umgekehrten Weg nachdenken, indem wir einen Abstand zur praktischen Tätigkeit suchen und das kontemplative Element des Lebens inmitten des Alltags oder die spirituelle Dimension des sozialen Engagements für andere erfahren. Das Thema berührt also nicht nur die Theologie, sondern z.B. auch die Sozialarbeit.
Action and Contemplation in the Context of Pastoral and Social Work: Austrian and Czech Perspectives
Action and contemplation are traditional terms that, in a philosophical and theological context, denote two fundamental dimensions of human life: on the one hand, the contemplative, intellectual, or mystical, and on the other, the active, creative, related to other people. The relationship between the active and the contemplative or the mystical and the practical dimension has played an important role in the reflection on life from the perspective of the Christian faith since antiquity throughout history. In addition to the traditional movement from contemplation to action, from faith to action, today we must also reflect on the opposite path, seeking a distance from practical activity and experiencing the contemplative element of life in the midst of everyday life or the spiritual dimension of social commitment to others. The topic, therefore, affects not only theology but also social work, for example.
